Hollywood Fantasy Orchestrator RPG Expansion Pack Tutorial Walkthrough
Added:[Music] [Music] Ryan Thomas at East West here and welcome to the official walkthrough for the Hollywood fantasy orchestrator RPG expansion pack and as the name implies these presets were designed to give you an RPG Essentials kit of course they're going to be ideal for film and TV shows as well but if you're a composer just starting off in the world of soundtrack composition these make a great place to start if you're a professional composer especially if you're writing for Fantasy RPG video games these were designed to allow you to just rip through the soundtrack with great results so they feature everything from environmental atmospheric music to boss fight music and even character themes now we don't have enough time to demo every single preset there are over 70 brand new presets in this expansion pack but we are going to hit enough to hopefully give you a good idea of what each theme is all about so let's go ahead and get right into it starting with our first theme which is Badlands [Music] I [Music] the Badlands presets were designed for atmospheric and environmental music for just general gameplay but specifically for parts of a map that might be more dangerous or that might involve more fighting so there's definitely an action component to some of these but the general Vibe here is just dark tension [Music] [Music] now you've also got some three four variations and this one is one of my favorites [Music] all right and here is another three4 variation now this one is going to be ideal for you know just tooling around the darker more dangerous parts of the map but it also has a bit of a cartoonish element as [Music] well [Music] so that is Badlands and here is our next [Music] [Music] theme the boss fight presets are of course going to be more action oriented but these were specifically designed not to compete too much with the sound design which can get really intense with these boss fights so this is boss fight 01 it's kind of middle of the road in terms of [Music] intensity all right let's try one of the four4 variations and this one is going to work really well with those tight note clusters and let's do one more and this one was designed specifically to give the listener a little bit of a break from that really intense action [Music] music all right and our next theme is called in the tavern it's one of my absolute favorite themes in the package [Music] [Music] so these presets were designed to be background music for a medieval in or Tavern setting uh they'd also work well for a Tavern themed miname in an RPG so here are a few [Music] [Music] more [Music] now I think the ideal playing style with these is to hold down a chord in the left hand usually an open fifth works really well while you play a Melody with the right hand so here's that open fifth and then the [Music] melody [Music] so they're just a ton of fun to play here's another one of my favorites uh this is in the tavern [Music] 04 and let's try one of the six eight variations this is in the tavern [Music] [Music] 05 now when you need to take a break from the melody you can pull up a variation like in the tavern 08 so this would make a really compelling [Music] bsection so these are just an absolute blast to play I think you'll have a lot of fun with them let's go ahead and move on to our next [Music] theme [Music] [Music] the hunting Monsters theme was designed to give you some versatile presets that are good for just general gameplay background music so these are fairly neutral by Design you've got some 44 variations [Music] and here's one of the three four variations this one is a bit on the darker [Music] side [Music] so again the general idea here is just maximum versatility so next let's check out worlds of [Music] wonder worlds of Wonder is similar to hunting monsters in that it was designed to just give you some versatile gameplay music but whereas hunting monsters is a little bit darker and grittier worlds of Wonder was designed for lighter [Music] fantasy [Music] so as you can hear these definitely have a more magical fantasy vibe there are some 44 variations as [Music] [Applause] [Music] well all right and now we are into the character themes so these are pretty versatile you could use them maybe during a video game cinematic where you're introducing one of the main characters or even at the start screen where you're choosing between different character classes there are plenty of different ways that you can use these so the first one we're going to check out is the warrior [Music] so the overall feel with these is going to be more of a marshall Noble Vibe but there is enough variation to account for or maybe a soldier type [Music] character you've also got something that could work well for more of like a tragic hero type character [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] and then you've got some 68 variations as [Music] well [Music] and let's go ahead and move on to our next theme which is the [Music] thief so these are obviously designed to give you some Rogue or Thief character themes and they are so much fun to play here's another one in [Music] 44 you've got some three four variations as well this one is a little bit more [Music] [Music] mysterious [Music] and if you're looking for something a little bit darker and quirkier this next one is [Music] ideal so that's the thief and here's our next [Music] theme [Music] [Applause] [Music] now the wizard was designed for a variety of spellcaster types so you've got something that's ideal for maybe a slightly more cartoonish magical wizard [Music] and you've also got some 68 variations now this next one might be more ideal for a more serious or Grim uh Mage or priest type [Music] spellcaster [Music] so that is the wizard let's go ahead and move on to our next theme which is the [Music] [Applause] [Music] Paladin [Music] the Paladin presets are designed for the holy Warrior you know spellcaster melee hybrid type characters but again there's enough variation here to account for some of the nuances that you might encounter in an individual character so this one is the Paladin [Music] [Applause] 05 [Music] [Applause] and here's one for a paladin who might have a slightly darker [Music] backstory all right and our last theme in stark contrast to the Paladin is the [Music] Necromancer The Necromancer presets are some of my absolute favorites and these were designed for your darker more evil aligned spellcasters but again there's some variation here as well so this one might work well for say an orc Warlock and if your character is just super Sinister Super Evil this next one is going to be [Music] [Music] ideal now this last one might work well for a more morally ambiguous spellcaster who still dabbles in the dark arts but who also might help the town's people every once in a [Music] [Music] [Music] while so that's about all we have time for now Hollywood fantasy orchestrator is included with the Hollywood fantasy Orchestra bundle that is for sale on the website right now and you do need all of the instruments in the Hollywood fantasy Orchestra series to run
