Physicalist Eliminativism and the Incoherency of P-Zombies
Many physicalist philosophers, most notably Daniel Dennett, argue that the concept of a 'philosophical zombie' is fundamentally incoherent and logically impossible. According to this counterpoint, if a zombie is truly identical to a human in every physical, behavioral, and functional way, it must also possess consciousness. Dennett contends that supporters of the zombie argument mistake a conceptual distinction for a real, metaphysical possibility. From a functionalist perspective, consciousness is not a separate, non-physical 'extra' added to physical processes; rather, it is the inevitable product of complex information processing. Therefore, any being that processes information and behaves exactly like a human would necessarily have subjective experiences. Other critics, known as illusionists, suggest that the 'qualia' or subjective experience we think we have is actually a cognitive illusion. In this view, there is no 'hard problem' of consciousness, and the premise of the philosophical zombie dissolves.

It's easy for us to explain how the brain processes information, reacts to stimuli, or controls behavior.
